The dresses

Six shapes, sixty gowns.

About sixty gowns from seven makers, from plain crepe to full lace. You do not need to know your shape before you come in. You will know by the time you leave.

Ivory silk and lace wedding gowns hanging on a brass rail in a pale room

By shape

What each one is good for.

A-line

£895–£1,650

Fitted to the waist and then gently out. Kind to nearly everyone and easy to dance in. About a third of what we sell.

Column

£950–£1,500

A straight fall of crepe or silk. Plain, modern and very good in a small church or a registry office.

Ballgown

£1,350–£2,400

A fitted bodice and a very full skirt. Wants a big room, a long aisle and someone to help with the loo.

Fit and flare

£1,100–£1,950

Close through the hips, flaring from mid thigh. Dramatic, and it needs walking in before the day.

Tea length

£895–£1,250

Ending at mid calf. Good for a village hall, a second wedding or anyone who wants to show off the shoes.

Two-piece

£1,050–£1,700

A separate top and skirt, a choice that lets you wear the top again and move about in comfort.

The samples

Why the dress on the rail is not your size.

Gowns are made to order, so what you try on is a sample. Ours are in sizes 10 to 20 in every shape and up to 26 in three. We clip them, or support them, to show you what the shape will do, then order in your measurements, from 6 to 28.

If you tell us your size when you book, the right samples will be out before you arrive. Nobody will hand you a dress and tell you to imagine it.
