What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you use the survey form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what the survey is about, the kind of property, a day if you gave one, and anything you write. The form records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The symptom checker stores nothing: your ticks are in the page address and nowhere else.

For a survey we also hold the property address, readings, photographs, thermal images, sample weights and the report, and for work, the quote, the guarantee and invoices.

Why we use it

  • To carry out the survey and the work (our contract with you, or steps you asked us to take before one).
  • To send the report to a solicitor, lender, landlord or tenant only when you ask us to.
  • To keep guarantee and accounting records (a legal obligation and the terms of the guarantee).

Who sees it

Alun and Rhian, and the fitting team for any work. The guarantee insurer receives the property address and the work done. The review service receives your email address once. We never sell your details.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become surveys are deleted after six months. Survey reports are kept for six years; guarantee records for the length of the guarantee plus a year; accounting records for six years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it. Email surveys@drywell-damp-and-timber.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website sets a session cookie only when you send the survey form, to limit repeat submissions; it expires when you close the browser. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the find-us page is loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies when it is displayed.
