Every fee on the websiteAn examination is £48, a white filling from £125, a crown from £695. The full list is on the fees page and you are quoted in writing before any treatment starts. No surprises at reception.
Regulated and inspectedRegistered with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and the General Dental Council. Every dentist, hygienist and nurse is GDC registered; the last HIW inspection report is in reception and on this site.
Time to explainA new patient examination is forty minutes with X-rays and photographs, and ends with you looking at your own teeth on the screen while the dentist explains what is there and what, if anything, needs doing.
Nervous patients, properlyA third of our patients were frightened of the dentist when they arrived. A longer first visit, a signal to stop, no treatment on day one unless you want it, and sedation for those who need it.

Treatments

Six things we do, explained first.

All treatments

01

Check-ups and hygiene

The routine that stops everything else: a thorough examination every six to twelve months, X-rays when they are due, and a hygienist visit that cleans properly and shows you how to keep it that way.

New patient examination £75 including X-rays and photographs.

02

Fillings, crowns and root canals

Fixing teeth that have broken, decayed or ache: tooth-coloured fillings, crowns made in a day with our scanner, bridges, and root canal treatment done properly under magnification so the tooth is kept rather than lost.

White fillings from £125, crowns from £695, root canal treatment from £495, bridges from £1,400.

03

Nervous patients

For the people who have not been for years and are dreading it: a longer first visit that can be just a conversation, a stop signal that is always honoured, treatment in small steps, and intravenous sedation for those who need it.

First visit £75 including X-rays where you are ready for them; the talk-only visit is £48.

04

Children's dentistry

Children seen from their first birthday, free with a member parent, with first visits that are a ride in the chair and a sticker rather than a treatment, and the sealants and fluoride that mean most of our children never have a filling.

Examinations free for under-18s with a parent on the membership plan, otherwise £32.

05

Whitening and straightening

The things people ask about quietly: whitening done safely by a dentist, clear aligners to straighten teeth without braces, composite bonding to fix chips and gaps, and veneers when they are genuinely the right answer.

Home whitening £395 including trays and gel.

06

Implants and dentures

Replacing missing teeth: a single implant that looks and works like the tooth it replaces, implants that hold a loose denture still, bridges, and well-made dentures for the people who prefer them.

Single implant and crown from £2,600.

Membership plan

The routine, for a monthly direct debit.

£18.50 a month, adults

£6.50 a month for children, and children of a member parent are examined free. Most of our patients are on it; it is the simplest way to never think about the cost of a check-up.

  • Two examinations a yearWith X-rays and photographs when they are due.
  • Two hygienist visits a yearThirty minutes each, booked with your examination or separately.
  • 10% off all treatmentFillings, crowns, root canals, whitening, aligners, implants.
  • Emergencies freeSame-day appointment and the temporary fix, no charge.
  • Children examined freeUnder-18s of a member parent, including fluoride varnish.
  • Worldwide dental injury coverThrough the plan administrator, for accidents and emergencies away from home.

What you can expect

Four things, every time.

Prevention before treatment

The hygienist is not an add-on here. Six-monthly hygiene is in the membership plan because it is what stops the fillings, and we would rather you never needed a crown.

Same-day emergencies

Toothache, a broken tooth, a lost crown: ring before 10am and you are seen the same day, £95 including the temporary fix. Members are seen free.

Written quotes, no upsell

You get a written plan with each option and its price, including the option of doing nothing. We do not sell whitening to people who came in for a filling.

Ten-year guarantee on crowns

Crowns, bridges and implants are guaranteed for ten years when you keep up your examinations and hygiene. Fillings for three. In writing.

Nervous patients

Nobody here will ask how long it has been.

A third of the people who walk in were frightened of the dentist when they first rang. The first appointment can be a conversation in the chair with nothing in your mouth. You agree a stop signal, and when you raise it we stop, every time. Treatment happens in small steps, easiest first, and for people whose fear is beyond that, there is sedation.

  • Ask for James, who sees most of our nervous patients
  • Quiet morning slots with no waiting room, on request
  • Intravenous sedation on Wednesday mornings with a trained team

Your first visit

Forty minutes, in six parts.

01

The form, ten minutes early

A medical history and a short questionnaire about what matters to you and how you feel about the dentist. Tell us on the form if you are nervous; it changes how we run the appointment.

02

The conversation

What has brought you in, what you want from your teeth, what has gone wrong before. Ten minutes in the chair with nothing in your mouth, door open if you prefer.

03

The examination

Every tooth, the gums, the jaw joint, an oral cancer screen. Two small X-rays and a set of photographs, unless you ask us not to on the first visit.

04

Your teeth on the screen

You see what we see: the photographs and X-rays, explained in plain words. Most people have never looked at their own back teeth. It changes how they brush.

05

The written plan

What, if anything, needs doing, in what order, with each option and its price, including doing nothing for now. You take it home. Nothing is booked until you say so.

06

Hygiene, if you want it today

If you have booked the hygienist for the same visit, Priya or Ceri see you next. Otherwise reception books it, and your next examination, before you leave.

Nervous patients

I had not been to a dentist for eleven years and was ashamed of it. James did not say a word about it. First visit was a chat, second a look, third a filling I barely noticed. I am now on the plan and go every six months like a normal person.

Children

Both children seen free on our plan since they were one. Our eldest is nine, has never had a filling, and asks when the next appointment is because of the sticker. Fissure seals at six, fluoride twice a year, and brushing advice that actually worked.

Repairs

Broke a molar on a Sunday night, rang at half eight Monday, seen at eleven, crown scanned, milled and fitted by lunchtime. £695 as it says on the website, not a penny more. The ten-year guarantee is in writing.

Questions people ask before they book

Are you taking new patients?

Yes, private only. A new patient examination is £75 with X-rays and photographs, or join the membership plan at £18.50 a month and it is included, with two hygienist visits a year and 10% off treatment.

Do you do NHS treatment?

No. We were an NHS practice until 2017 and could not give patients the time it needed. Our fees are on the website; the membership plan spreads the routine cost and children are examined free with a member parent.

What is the membership plan?

A monthly direct debit, £18.50 for adults and £6.50 for children, that covers two examinations and two hygiene visits a year, free emergencies, 10% off all treatment and worldwide dental injury cover. Most of our patients are on it.

I am terrified. Where do I start?

Tell reception when you book and ask for James. Your first visit can be a conversation with nothing in your mouth; nobody will examine you until you are ready, and nobody will comment on how long it has been.

Do you see children?

From their first birthday. Free with a member parent, otherwise £32 for an examination. The first visits are a ride in the chair and a sticker; fissure sealants and fluoride varnish from six keep most of our children filling-free.
