Inside windows, fridges, carpets, the garage, the odd job

Windows, carpets and extras

The jobs that are not on the weekly list but need doing sometimes: inside windows at £3 each, the fridge and freezer emptied and cleaned for £25, carpets machine-cleaned at £35 a room, the garage, the conservatory, the shed. Added to any clean, priced by name.

A cleaner polishing the inside of a large bay window with a cloth, sunlight streaming through clean glass onto a wooden floor

Every house has the jobs that fall between the weekly clean and the deep clean: the windows you can see the dog's nose on, the freezer that needs defrosting, the carpet in the hall that has had a winter of boots. They are priced by name so you can add one to any visit.

Inside windows are cleaned with a squeegee and a microfibre, frames and sills included, at £3 a window; a whole three-bedroom house is usually about £45 and takes an extra hour. Fridges and freezers are emptied onto the side, defrosted if needed, shelves and drawers washed, seals cleaned and everything put back in the order it came out. Carpets are machine-cleaned with a hot-water extractor and dry in a few hours; we do a test patch first.

Conservatories, garages, utility rooms, under-stairs cupboards and the shed are cleared and cleaned by the hour at the one-off rate, and we will say how long we think before we start. Outside windows we leave to a window cleaner, and we can give you a name.

Questions about extras

Do you do outside windows?

No; a window cleaner with the right poles does them better and cheaper. We know two in Radyr and will pass on a name.

Can carpets be cleaned the same day as the house?

Yes, usually at the end so nobody walks on them. They are damp for three or four hours; we do the hall last so you can get in.
