There is a team for every school year from under 7s to under 16s, each with its own coach and its own slot on a Saturday. A boy joins the group for his age on 31 August at the start of the season, which nearly always means his school year.

Under 7s and 8s play five-a-side on the mini pitch by the gate, with no league table and no scores written down. Under 9s and 10s play seven-a-side, under 11s and 12s play nine-a-side, and from under 13s it is the full game on the big pitches. Each step up happens in September, with the same coach where we can manage it.

New boys are welcome any week of the season. If his age group has a full squad, we say so straight away and tell you which club nearby has room. We never put a boy on a waiting list and forget about him.

Questions about under 7s to 16s

He has never played. Is that all right?

Yes, at any age. Under 7s is mostly finding out which goal to aim at, and every older group has somebody who started late.

How do I know which team?

His school year usually. The teams page lists every group, or ring us and we will work it out.

Two training sessions free. Then he can tell you.

Wednesday evenings at Trethomas Park, grouped by age. Bring boots or trainers, shin pads if you have them, and a coat for yourself. Ask for the coach of his age group at the car park gate.
