The shop
7 Cardiff Road, Caerphilly CF83 1JP: the blush-pink shopfront with the gold lettering three doors down from the castle end of Cardiff Road, opposite the bank. The bakestone is in the window; the consultation table is in the bay.
Getting here
Caerphilly station is a five-minute walk down Station Terrace and along Cardiff Road, with trains from Cardiff Queen Street every fifteen minutes. Buses from Cardiff and Newport stop at the interchange by the station. The castle is the landmark; we are on the road that runs from it to the station.
Parking
The Crescent Road and Park Lane car parks are both four minutes away, pay-and-display, an hour free in Park Lane. A loading bay outside for collecting a large cake for ten minutes; ring and we bring it to the car.
Access
Step-free from the pavement into the shop; the consultation table is at the front, step-free; the toilet is up a step at the back and not accessible, which we are sorry about. A chair by the counter for anyone who needs one while we box a cake.
Collecting a big cake
Bring a car with a flat boot or footwell and drive like there is a cake in it. We box celebration cakes on a non-slip mat, and tiers over two are delivered rather than collected because the drive is where cakes are lost.
Hours
The shop Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5pm, collections until 4:30pm. Consultations Tuesday to Friday by appointment and Saturday afternoons. Closed Sunday and Monday (Monday is the vegan and gluten-free bake), and the week after Christmas.
