Rotator cuff, frozen shoulder recovery, post-dislocation and after surgery, with your physio
Shoulder rehab
Strength and range for shoulders after a physio has assessed them: rotator cuff problems, recovery from frozen shoulder, after a dislocation or surgery. Bands, cables and light weights at first, then pressing, pulling and carrying, and the overhead reach back.

Shoulders are slow. A rotator cuff that has been sore for months, or a joint recovering after surgery, needs patient, progressive loading and the confidence to lift your arm again. Ffion runs most of our shoulder work, from your physio's notes.
We start with what your physio has found and the movements they want built: often external rotation with bands, wall slides, rows, and holds at the angles that are comfortable. Each stage adds load and range: from bands to cables and dumbbells, from waist height to shoulder height to overhead, until you can press, pull, carry and reach without guarding. Tests are simple and repeatable: how far, how heavy, how many, how it feels.
After surgery we only start when your surgeon or physio says so, and we follow their limits to the letter. Sudden loss of strength, a new deformity, night pain that is getting worse, or numbness down the arm means back to the physio or GP, and we will say so.
What it includes
- Work from your physio's findings and limits
- Bands to cables to weights, in stages
- Range back to overhead, gradually
- Simple tests repeated every few weeks
- Post-surgery only when cleared
- Clear advice when to go back to the physio
What it costs
£55 first session, then £45, or eight for £320. Shoulders often need twelve weeks or more; we will say at the start. The stage checker gives a rough idea where you would start; the first session confirms it.
Questions about shoulders
Can you help with a frozen shoulder?
In the later stages, yes, once your physio or GP has confirmed it and the most painful phase has eased. Early on, your physio leads.
I still cannot sleep on it. Should I train?
Night pain that is easing is common; night pain that is getting worse needs your physio or GP before training.
After the physio, the long middle. We do that bit.
Book a first session: an hour, £55, with your physio's or GP's notes, simple tests, your stage and a written plan. If nobody has assessed the injury yet, we will tell you who can, and the referrals page lists practices we work with.
