The pods

Four pods, and every rate.

Each pod has a weekday and a weekend price in low, mid and high season, and nothing goes on top: no cleaning fee, no booking fee, the first basket of wood in the price. Two nights minimum, three on a bank holiday weekend. The availability page prices any stay night by night.

How the rates work

Three seasons, two kinds of night, and the winter off.

Low season

March, April and October

Cold nights, bright mornings, the wood-burners lit and the meadow to yourselves. The lowest rates, and the stoves earn their keep.

Mid season

May, June and September

The orchids, the long evenings, the river warm enough to paddle by June and the swifts. The best of the year, and the middle rates.

High season

July and August

School holidays, the river warm, the canoes busy, the meadow full of grasshoppers. The top rates; the bell tent and the treehouse go by February.

The Shepherd's Hut and the Cabin

A stove for two, or a bathroom with a door for a family.

The Hut sits at the edge of the wood with the best sunset on the site: a double bed across the end, a wood-burner, a two-ring hob and a stable door. The Cabin is by the barn with a double room, a bunk room, a sofa bed, a kitchen with a proper cooker and a bathroom with a hot shower, which is the difference on a wet week with small children.

Questions about the pods

Which pod for a family?

The Cabin for a wet week with small children (a bathroom with a door, a cooker, a sofa bed), the Bell Tent for a dry one with children who want canvas. The Treehouse takes nobody under eight; the Hut sleeps two.

Is there electricity?

The Cabin has mains. The tent, the hut and the treehouse have a solar lantern, a USB charging point and no sockets, which is the point; the barn has sockets and a kettle for anyone who needs them.

Pick the pod, pick the nights, and see every one of them priced.

The availability page shows every night of the season for every pod, taken or free, and quotes a stay with the price for each night. Then one form books it; Elin replies within two hours, 8am to 8pm, and a deposit of a night holds it.
