A breakfast hamper to the door by half past eight for £28, a welcome hamper, a one-pot supper for the fire, ordered by six the day before
Hampers and breakfast
No shop and no café, so the food comes to the pod: a breakfast hamper for two by half past eight (bacon and sausages from the butcher in Monmouth, eggs from our hens, bread from the bakery, butter, jam, juice, milk, the coffee) for £28, a welcome hamper of bread, cheese, a bottle and the firelighting kit for £45, and a one-pot supper for two to heat on the fire for £38. Ordered by six the day before on the booking page or by text.

There is no shop on the site and the nearest is four miles, so the hampers are how most people eat here. Elin packs them in the farmhouse kitchen from the butcher and the bakery in Monmouth, the eggs from our hens and the vegetables from the walled garden when there are any, and Tom carries them down to the pod in the morning so you can hear him coming and pretend you were awake.
The breakfast hamper is for two: six rashers of dry-cured bacon and four sausages from the butcher on Monnow Street, six eggs from the hens, a loaf from the bakery, butter, a jar of jam from the WI stall, a bottle of milk, a carton of orange juice, ground coffee and a bag of tea, and a pan if your pod does not have one. £28, with £12 for each extra person and £6 for a child's version with the cereal and a banana. It is on the deck by half past eight, or earlier if you are going on the river, and it cooks on the fire pit grill or the hob in the hut and the cabin.
The welcome hamper is for the first evening when you have driven three hours and have not shopped: a loaf, a Monmouthshire cheese, a chutney, a bottle of cider from the farm at Penallt or a wine from the shop in Monmouth, a bar of chocolate, and the firelighting kit of kindling, firelighters and a box of matches, £45, in the pod when you arrive. The supper is a one-pot dish for two (a chilli, a cawl, a vegetable curry) in a cast-iron pot that goes on the fire with a loaf and a pudding, £38, left in the barn fridge on your shelf. Vegetarian and vegan versions of all three; say so when you order.

Questions about hampers
Can we order for every morning?
Yes: tick the mornings on the booking form or text Elin by six the night before. Most people do the first morning and then find the bakery in Monmouth.
What if we have an allergy?
Tell us on the booking and the hamper is packed around it; the farmhouse kitchen handles nuts, gluten and dairy, so we say what is in everything on the card in the hamper.
Pick the pod, pick the nights, and see every one of them priced.
The availability page shows every night of the season for every pod, taken or free, and quotes a stay with the price for each night. Then one form books it; Elin replies within two hours, 8am to 8pm, and a deposit of a night holds it.
