Is it free, and what does it cost?

This is the calendar Elin books from, not a form that goes into a queue: every night of the season for every pod, taken or free, with the price of each free night, updated the day a deposit lands. Below it, put in a pod, a first night and how many nights, and the stay is priced night by night.

Questions about booking

Is my date free?

The availability page shows every month of the season for every pod, taken or free, with the price for each night, read from the list Elin updates the day a deposit lands. Pick the pod, the first night and the number of nights and it quotes the stay, or says which night is the problem.

How much is a night?

By the pod, the season and the night: the Bell Tent from £85, the Hut from £110, the Cabin from £150, the Treehouse from £165 on a weekday in low season, up to £245 for the treehouse on a Saturday in August. Every number is on the pods page. Two nights minimum, no fees on top.

What is actually there?

Four pods on eleven acres, each with a fire pit; a shower block with three hot showers and two flushing loos; a barn with a kettle, a fridge, games and a drying rack; the river with a beach at the bottom. No shop, no bar, no play area. Hampers come to the door.

Can we bring the dog?

In the Bell Tent, the Hut and the Cabin, yes, at £8 a night with a bowl and a towel, two at most. Not the Treehouse, because of the ladder. The meadow is fenced and the river is theirs too.

Do we need to bring food?

A breakfast hamper for two arrives at half past eight for £28, a welcome hamper is in the pod for £45 and a one-pot supper for the fire is £38, all ordered by six the day before. Otherwise the shops are in Monmouth, four miles. The barn has a fridge with a shelf per pod.

Can we have the whole site?

Yes: all four pods, the barn, the meadow and the beach for up to fourteen sleeping, from £1,450 for two nights in low season and £1,950 in high, each extra night £650. The wood is licensed for a ceremony of thirty. A dozen times a year.

Free? Then book it.

The booking form takes the pod, the nights, a dog and the hampers. Elin replies within two hours, 8am to 8pm, and a deposit of one night holds it; the rest is due a fortnight before you come.
