Questions about cake orders
How do I pay for a cake order?
We take a £10 deposit by phone or at the counter when we confirm the order, and the rest when you collect.
What if I need it sooner than the earliest date?
Ring us. Sometimes there is a spare sponge or a cancellation, but we will not promise a cake we cannot bake properly.
Can I collect on a Monday?
No, we are closed on Mondays. For a Monday party, collect on the Sunday; a buttercream cake keeps well for two days in a cool room.
Can you make it gluten-free or vegan?
The lemon drizzle and the chocolate fudge can be made gluten-free, and the chocolate cake vegan, at the same price with a day’s more notice. Not safe for coeliacs; see the allergen note.
Come in. There is usually a table, and always cake.
Breakfast until 11:30, lunch until the kitchen closes, cakes and coffee all day, Tuesday to Sunday. Book for six or more, order a whole cake for collection, or hire the café after hours.
