Adults
The route for adults.
A stroke, a voice that gives out, a stammer you have had all your life. Matthew or Siân can help, at the clinic or in your home, usually alongside the NHS rather than instead of it.

Which is closest to you?
After a stroke
Finding words, understanding, reading and writing, and clear speech. Usually after NHS therapy has ended, or alongside it. At home if that is easier.
A voice problem
Hoarseness, a voice that tires, or a voice you need for work. See your GP or ENT first if it has lasted three weeks.
Stammering
At work, on the phone, or anywhere you avoid speaking. We do not promise fluency. We work on what you want to do.
Parkinson's and other conditions
Quieter or less clear speech with Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis or after a head injury. Ask us: your NHS team should know as well.
Prices
What it costs.
We do not sell blocks of sessions. Stroke therapy on the NHS is good, though it may be time-limited. Ask your NHS team first what they can offer, and we are happy to work alongside them.
Sudden slurred speech, a drooping face or a weak arm: ring 999 straight away. Hoarseness lasting three weeks: see your GP first.

Questions adults ask
Is it worth starting years after a stroke?
It can be. People go on making progress with communication for years, though we cannot tell you how much. A few sessions usually give us both a good idea.
Do you do home visits?
Yes, for adults, within seven miles of Rhiwbina. A session at home costs £85. Further away is possible on some days: ask us.
Can my partner sit in?
Please. Conversation takes two, and we spend a lot of the time coaching the other person.
Do you treat swallowing problems?
Not on our own. Swallowing difficulties can cause choking and chest infections, so they belong with your NHS team. Ask your GP for a referral, and urgently if you are coughing on food or drink.
