The team

Two chiropractors, one massage therapist.

Elin opened the clinic in 2012, Owen joined from a rugby club's medical team in 2017, and Helen has been working on Taff Trail runners since 2004. Between them, every back in the valley, examined before it is treated.

The clinicians

Elin Morgan, a chiropractor in her forties in a teal tunic, arms folded, smiling in a bright clinic room

Elin Morgan

Chiropractor, clinic principal

Elin qualified from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2006, worked in Cardiff and Swansea, and opened the clinic on Gelliwastad Road in 2012. Postgraduate diploma in pregnancy and paediatric chiropractic. She leads the pregnancy and older-adult work and writes the plans that have an end. GCC registered, BCA member.

Owen Hughes, a chiropractor in his thirties with a trimmed beard in a teal tunic, holding a clipboard

Owen Hughes

Chiropractor, sports and rehabilitation

Owen qualified in 2015 and joined in 2017 after three years with a rugby club's medical team. Runners, cyclists, rugby and gym injuries, dry needling and loading programmes are his side of the clinic; he also takes the acute low backs that come in bent over. GCC registered, BCA member, parkrun regular.

Helen Price, a sports massage therapist in her fifties with a grey bob and a coral polo shirt, standing by a treatment table

Helen Price

Sports and remedial massage therapist

Helen qualified in sports massage in 2004 and has worked with Pontypridd RFC, a women's cycling team and two decades of Taff Trail runners. She runs the massage diary on her own and alongside the chiropractors, and she runs reception on Saturday mornings because she likes it.

How we work

Four things you can expect every time.

Hands on, and more than hands on

Adjustment where it helps, soft tissue work, mobilisation, dry needling and a short exercise plan you can actually do. The adjustment is one tool, not the whole toolbox.

Time that matches the fee

A new patient visit is an hour, a follow-up twenty to twenty-five minutes. You are not rushed through in eight minutes to make the diary work.

Fees on the website

First visit £65, follow-ups £42, five together £195. No VAT, no hidden report fee, no "wellness package". Most health insurers cover us.

Measured, not guessed

We record your pain and movement scores at the first visit and at each review, so improvement is a number on a chart rather than a feeling, and so we both know when to stop.

A look inside

Three things that happen here most days.

A chiropractor showing a spine model to a patient at a desk during a first consultationFirst visit

The report of findings

Elin

Every new patient gets the model on the desk and a plain explanation before any treatment. If you leave the first visit not knowing what is wrong, we have failed.

Lumbar adjustment

Owen

Side-posture lumbar adjustment for a stiff lower back. Always after the examination, always with consent, and never the only thing we do.

A chiropractor assessing the hip and knee of a runnerSports

Runner's knee, assessed at the hip

Owen

A Taff Trail runner with knee pain whose problem was a hip that did not control it. Four visits, a loading plan, back to the half marathon.
