Back pain

Went in unable to stand up straight after lifting a fence post. Owen examined me properly, told me it was a facet joint and not a disc, and I was walking the dog by visit three. Five visits and discharged. Nobody tried to sign me up for a year.

Neck and headaches

Headaches most afternoons for two years. Elin found a neck that barely turned and a desk set-up that made it worse. Four visits, a new monitor height, and I have had two headaches in three months.

Sports injuries

Runner's knee that three months of rest did nothing for. Owen looked at my hip, not my knee, gave me a loading plan and let me keep running. Half marathon done six weeks later. Helen's massage the week before was the best money I spent.

Pregnancy

Pelvic girdle pain at 28 weeks and told by everyone to wait for the baby. Elin saw me in side-lying, gave me a belt and a way to roll over in bed, and I slept through the night for the first time in a month.

Back pain

Good treatment, honest people, back is much better. Four stars because they would not just crack it on the first visit without the full examination, which I grumbled about, and which I now understand was the point.

Over 65s

I am 79 with arthritis in my back and hips and I was told to live with it. Elin treats me every six weeks, gently, and I am still doing my garden. The concession fee matters on a pension and they did not make me ask for it.

About the four stars

No adjustment without the examination. It cost a star, and we would do it again.

Alun wanted his back cracked on the first visit and was annoyed that we spent forty minutes examining it first. The examination is where we found that his pain was a facet joint and not the disc he had been told it was, which changed the treatment and is why he got better in four visits. We will always examine before we treat; it is the whole point of the first hour, and it is in the GCC code we practise under.
