Tubs to take home

Half of what we make goes home in a tub, mostly to Gower holiday cottages and Swansea freezers, so the tubs have a page. They are paper with a compostable lining, packed solid rather than scooped loose, with the date it was made on the lid, and they keep for a month in a home freezer, although nobody has ever reported one lasting that long.

Anything in the window can be packed while you wait: 500ml for £7.50 or a litre for £12, in a cool bag that keeps it frozen for an hour and a half on a summer day (£3, free with a litre or more). For a flavour that is not in today, order a day ahead on the order page and Ffion makes it into the next morning's batch. A mixed box of four 500ml tubs is £27 and the most common present we sell.

For a party, a five-litre catering tub is £45 with a day's notice, which is about seventy scoops, in a polystyrene box with a scoop and the serving instructions (take it out fifteen minutes before, dip the scoop in warm water). Order online for collection at a time: the tub is ready on the shelf at the end of the counter in a bag with your name on it and you do not queue. We do not deliver; ice cream and a van in July is a sad combination.
