Sundaes and waffles

The sundaes are the reason the parlour has seats. Six of them, in tall glasses, built at the counter from whatever is in the window that day, with sauces made in the back room, cream whipped to order and nothing out of a squeezy bottle. The waffles are Belgian, made in a cast-iron iron to order, and take four minutes, which is the time it takes to find a seat.

The sundaes: the Mumbles Mess (strawberry, vanilla, Gower strawberries, meringue and cream, £9.50), the knickerbocker glory (four scoops, fruit, jelly, cream, a wafer and a cherry, £10), the Bara Brith Sundae (bara brith ice cream, butterscotch sauce and toasted bara brith, £9), the Lighthouse (lemon sorbet, raspberry sorbet and mango with fresh fruit, vegan, £8.50), the Black and White (dark chocolate and vanilla with hot fudge, £8.50), and the Small One (two scoops, a sauce and sprinkles, £7.50). The children's sundae is two small scoops, a sauce and sprinkles, £5.

The waffles: plain with one scoop and a sauce (£8.50), with strawberries and cream (£9.50), with banana, salted caramel and pecans (£10.50), and with dark chocolate sauce and two scoops (£10). The waffle batter is made in the morning with Gower eggs and milk; the vegan batter is oat milk and is £1 more because it is made separately. The iron is on from opening until half an hour before close. Hot chocolate is made with the same Cardiff chocolate as the chocolate ice cream, £3.80, and an affogato is £4.50.
