The cart: weddings and events
The cart is a 1960s Italian tricycle with a pink-and-white canopy, eight flavours you choose from the thirty-two, cones, cups and napkins, and two of us scooping: two hours and up to a hundred scoops for £395, £2.80 a head beyond that, £90 an extra hour. Weddings, birthdays, school fairs and company days within an hour of Mumbles, April to October; the cart page says whether your date is free.
Mali found the cart in a barn in Liguria in 2017, rode it badly round a car park in Genoa and shipped it home in a crate. It took a winter to restore and now does about forty weddings a year, mostly in the gap between the meal and the evening, when people want something cold and something to queue for that is not the bar.
What you get: the cart, two of us in striped aprons, eight flavours of your choice from the thirty-two (a wedding often has a flavour made for it, which is £60 more and takes a tasting), waffle cones, cups, spoons and napkins, a flavour board in your colours, and two hours of service with up to a hundred scoops. Beyond a hundred scoops it is £2.80 a head; beyond two hours it is £90 an hour. The cart needs a flat spot two metres square and a normal socket within twenty metres for the freezer; it works on grass if it is dry.
The cart goes anywhere within an hour of Mumbles: Gower, Swansea, Neath, Llanelli, Carmarthen, Bridgend and Cardiff on a good day. Travel is free within thirty miles and 50p a mile beyond. It runs April to October (it does not like rain and neither do the cones), one booking a day, and the cart page has the date checker: put your date in and it says whether the cart is already out. A £100 deposit holds the date; the balance is due a fortnight before.

Questions about the cart
What if it rains?
We bring a gazebo and the cart works under it. If the venue moves everything inside, the cart comes in too if the door is ninety centimetres wide; we will check before the day.
Can it come to a venue without power?
It needs a normal socket within twenty metres for the freezer. Without one, we bring a quiet generator for £40 if the venue allows it.
