Tables, desks, beds, sideboards, one-offs

Bespoke furniture

Freestanding furniture made to commission in solid oak, ash, walnut and elm: dining tables, desks, beds, sideboards and the odd thing nobody sells, designed with you and made by one maker from start to finish.

A bespoke solid walnut dining table with a live-edge top and tapered legs in a bright dining room with oak chairs

Most furniture is made to a price. Ours is made to a drawing you helped with, from a board you can come and choose.

A commission starts with a conversation about what the piece has to do, where it will live and what you like. Ffion draws it, we agree the timber and the finish, and you can come to the workshop and choose the boards. Tables get breadboard ends or floating tops so the solid wood can move; drawers are dovetailed; finishes are hardwax oil for most things, lacquer where it has to take a kitchen.

Everything is made by one person from the rough board to the final coat, and delivered and assembled by them. Live-edge tops, book-matched boards, inlays and turned legs are all possible; so is a plain, square, quietly perfect oak table.

Questions about furniture

How long does a commission take?

Eight to twelve weeks from the signed drawing, longer for walnut or anything with a lot of hand work. We give a date and keep to it.

Start with a measure.

Ffion visits, measures the room and draws what will fit. The drawing comes with one price and a sample of the finish, and nothing is cut until you sign it.
