What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the booking form we collect your name, mobile number, email address and postcode, what you are asking for and how you would like it, a date if you give one, and what you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The spray timing tool and the skin check on this website send your answers in the address of the page and store nothing.
Why we use it
- To book and carry out your treatment (our contract with you).
- To keep skin check and sunbed session records and to check age, as the law and our insurer require (a legal obligation and our legitimate interest).
- To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).
We do not send marketing unless you have asked for it, which you can stop at any time by replying or telling us. We do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
Health information
A skin check at the studio can include your skin type, moles, medication and family history. This is health data, held only with your explicit consent so that we can decide safely whether to offer a treatment. We check ID by looking at it, and we do not copy it.
Who sees it
Carys and Leanne. Our accountant, for the accounts. Our card terminal provider, for payments. Our website host, for the form. Our accountant, for the accounts. None of them may use your details for anything else.
How long we keep it
Skin check and sunbed records are kept for three years after your last visit. Enquiries that lead to nothing are deleted after six months. Accounting records are kept for six years because the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@golden-hour-tanning.co.uk or asking us in person. We answer within a month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The website sets one cookie, a session identifier, only when you send the form, so that we can stop the same browser sending it twice in thirty seconds. It holds nothing about you and expires when you close the browser. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the Find us page is embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when it loads.
