Aromatherapy massage

A gentle, rhythmic full-body massage with a blend of essential oils diluted in a carrier oil, chosen by you from three or four we suggest by smell: something calming, something fresh, something warm. Sixty minutes £62, ninety £88, and the rest of the bottle to take home.

Aromatherapy massage is mostly about how it feels: a gentle massage and a smell you chose. We do not claim the oils cure anything. People like it, it relaxes them, and the smell on a pillow that night is half the point.

Before the massage you smell three or four oils we have picked from your answers, and choose what you like. They are diluted well below the limits professional guidelines set, in a light carrier oil, and the blend is yours for the session.

The massage itself is gentle and rhythmic, slower than Swedish and lighter than deep tissue, with long strokes and gentle pressure points along the back, neck and face if you would like. Sixty minutes is a full body; ninety adds the feet and scalp.

Some essential oils are not suitable in pregnancy, with some medicines, epilepsy, or sensitive skin; the questions before are partly to find out. The rest of the blend goes home with you in a small bottle.

Questions about aromatherapy

Will the oils help my anxiety or sleep?

Many people find the massage and the smell relaxing, and that may help them sleep. We do not claim the oils treat anything; if anxiety or sleep is a real problem, your GP is the place to start.

Can I bring my own oil?

We would rather not, because we cannot check its quality or dilution. Tell us what you like and we will match it.
