Thirty minutes and a skin scan, £35, taken off your first course

The skin consultation and skin scan

Thirty minutes to look at your skin properly: a skin scan that photographs it under ordinary, polarised and UV light to show pigmentation, redness and congestion you cannot see in the mirror, your routine and history, the contraindications, and a written plan with the treatments, sessions and price. £35, taken off your first course.

Everyone starting a course of peels, microneedling or laser has a consultation first, and anyone unsure what they need should start here. It is where we find out what your skin is doing, what you have been putting on it, and what would get in the way of treatment.

The skin scan takes three photographs of your face under ordinary light, polarised light and ultraviolet. Together they show the pigmentation under the surface, redness and broken capillaries, congestion and sun damage. You see the images on screen with us, and they are kept for comparison after a course, which is the honest way to judge whether it worked.

Then the questions that matter: what you use on your skin and how often, your medication (isotretinoin, retinoids, antibiotics and some others change what we can safely do), pregnancy or breastfeeding, cold sores, keloid scarring, recent sun or tanning, and any skin condition a doctor is treating. These are the contraindications, and some mean waiting, some mean a different treatment, and a few mean no.

You leave with a written plan: the treatment, the number of sessions, the gap between them, the course price and the home care that goes with it, and the patch test booked if you need one. The £35 comes off your first course, and nobody will press you to book that day.

Questions about skin consultation

Do I need a consultation for a facial?

No; a facial includes its own look at your skin. Consultations are for peels, microneedling, laser and anyone unsure what they need.

Can you diagnose skin conditions?

No. We are skin therapists, not doctors. If something looks like it needs a diagnosis (rosacea that is worsening, a changing mole, scarring acne) we suggest your GP, and we will not treat it until it has been looked at.

Your course, priced before you book.

Start with the skin consultation: thirty minutes, the skin scan, a written plan with the sessions and the price, and £35 taken off your first course. Or book a facial, which needs no consultation, from every free hour on the book page.
