A class 4 diode laser registered with HIW, a test patch first, from £45 an area
Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal with a class 4 diode laser registered with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, suitable for most skin tones, operated under written local rules: a test patch first, then six to eight sessions four to eight weeks apart, from £45 for the upper lip to £160 for the lower legs.

Laser hair removal works by heating the pigment in a hair so that the follicle stops producing it. It works best on dark hair, works on most skin tones with the right laser and settings, and does not work on white, grey or very fair hair, which we will tell you before you spend anything.
Our diode laser suits skin from very fair to dark, with settings chosen at the test patch. In Wales the use of class 4 lasers for cosmetic treatment must be registered with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales; ours is, with a laser protection adviser, written local rules for the room, and protective eyewear for everyone in it.
The test patch is free and comes at least 48 hours before the first session, so we can see how your skin responds. Shave the area the day before each session; do not wax, thread or pluck for four weeks, because the laser needs the root to be there. Avoid sun and fake tan for two weeks either side.
Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only reaches the hairs that are actively growing, so it takes six to eight sessions four to eight weeks apart to treat them all. Most people see a lasting reduction of 70 to 90 per cent; an occasional top-up is normal. Hormonal hair, as with polycystic ovary syndrome, may need more and may return; we say so.

Questions about laser hair removal
Will it work on blonde, red or grey hair?
Usually not, because the laser targets dark pigment in the hair. We will tell you at the test patch rather than sell you a course that cannot work.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe a quick snap like an elastic band, with cooling built into the handpiece. The bikini line is the most sensitive area.
Your course, priced before you book.
Start with the skin consultation: thirty minutes, the skin scan, a written plan with the sessions and the price, and £35 taken off your first course. Or book a facial, which needs no consultation, from every free hour on the book page.
