Nails, corns, hard skin and cracked heels, thirty minutes £42, the first visit forty-five minutes £52
Routine chiropody
Thick or curved nails cut and filed, corns enucleated, hard skin reduced, cracked heels treated and the skin advice that keeps them away. The appointment most of our patients have every six to ten weeks, for £42; the first visit is forty-five minutes with the full assessment for £52.

Routine chiropody is the work that keeps people walking comfortably: the thickened nails that cannot be cut at home, the corn that feels like a stone in the shoe, the hard skin on the heel that cracks every winter. It is unglamorous and it changes how a day feels, and it is most of what we do.
The first visit is forty-five minutes. We take a history (your health, your medication, anything that affects healing or circulation), check the pulses and the sensation in both feet, look at how you stand and how your shoes wear, and then treat whatever needs treating that day. You leave with a note of what we found and how often you should come back, which for most people is every six to ten weeks.
Nails are cut with sterile nippers and filed smooth; thickened nails are reduced with a burr under dust extraction so they can be cut at home between visits, if you can reach. Corns are removed with a scalpel, which does not hurt because the corn is dead skin, and the pressure that caused it is padded or explained. Hard skin is reduced and the cracked heel treated with a urea cream we recommend by name.
Routine visits are thirty minutes and £42. We do not book people more often than their feet need; some patients come every five weeks and some twice a year. If something has changed since the last visit (a new pain, a colour change, a sore that will not heal) the appointment becomes an assessment of that first, at no extra charge.

Questions about routine chiropody
Does corn removal hurt?
No. A corn is a core of dead, compacted skin and removing it with a scalpel is painless; most people feel immediate relief. If anything hurts we stop and tell you why.
How often should I come?
Every six to ten weeks for most people, as often as five weeks for very thick nails or diabetic feet, and less for others. We say at the end of each visit and do not book anyone more often than they need.
