I am eighty-four and cannot reach my feet. Every eight weeks Helen cuts the nails I cannot, takes the corn off my little toe and tells me about her grandchildren. Thirty minutes, forty-two pounds, a car park behind and no step at the door. I walk to the bus stop afterwards without thinking about it.
Reviews
What patients say.
Six reviews, one for each thing we treat, including the four-star one. Collected by an independent platform after an appointment; we do not choose which appear, and we answer every one.

Two years of an ingrowing toenail and three trips to the GP for antibiotics. Helen explained the procedure properly, did it a fortnight later, and the injection was the only bit that hurt. Back in trainers in eight days and it has not come back. I should have come two years earlier.
I came in wanting orthotics for my heel and left with a stretching sheet and the name of a shoe, which annoyed me for about a week. Arjun watched me walk on the treadmill in slow motion and explained exactly why. Four months later the heel is fine and I never needed the orthotics.
Type 2 for nine years and my feet had never been checked with the doppler. Twenty minutes, every result written down, a moderate risk grade with a plain explanation of why, and a copy sent to my surgery the same day. I now go every eight weeks and the hard skin under my big toe that worried them has gone.
Arjun was honest that it might go on its own and that at nine my son would cope with freezing. It took five sessions a fortnight apart, which was more than we hoped, and it has gone. Four stars only because the Wednesday evening slots fill fast in school term; book the next one before you leave.
Mam has been housebound since her stroke. Helen comes on a Tuesday afternoon every seven weeks with everything sealed in pouches, sits her in her own chair by the window, and leaves a note for the carers. It is the same care she had in the clinic for years, and she looks forward to it.
About the four stars
Wednesday evenings now run until half seven, and a Saturday verruca clinic.
Sarah was right that the after-school slots filled weeks ahead in term time. Wednesday now runs until 7:30pm rather than 6, and the first two Saturday mornings of each month are kept for verruca follow-ups, so a fortnightly course does not have to fight for an evening. The next appointment is offered before you leave the room, which is the advice she gave and we took.
