Saturday mornings at ten

Mums and kids sessions

Half an hour of playing with a ball alongside your children, aged two to seven, with a coach and some cones. Grandmothers, aunts and dads all welcome.

Two women and a small group of young children at play with one ball on a sunny pitch, seen from behind and at a distance

On Saturdays at ten, on the small pitch by the changing rooms, grown-ups and small children play together for half an hour. Nobody is coached, not exactly. A coach sets up some games with cones and lets it go wrong in the way these things usually do.

It started because mums on Tuesdays kept asking what to do with the kids. It turned out that a lot of them would rather play with them, and that the children like seeing their mother in a pair of boots. Grandmothers, aunts and dads are all welcome.

Parents stay with their own children for the whole session, every time, and it is not a childcare session. Coaches hold an enhanced DBS check and have taken the safeguarding course. We do not name or show close-up pictures of any child on this site.

Questions about mums and kids

What age?

From about two, when they can walk and kick, up to about seven.

What if it rains?

Unless it is torrential we carry on. A text by 9am if it is off.

Turn up on Tuesday. That is genuinely the whole plan.

Seven o'clock at Cae Dderwen, in whatever you have got. Your first month costs nothing. Bethan will find you at the gate, and nobody will ask you what position you played in 2004.
