Three days in August before the season, sport by sport, £75

Most injuries early in a season come from going from a summer off straight into full training. A pre-season camp builds the base in the right order and sends athletes back to their club with a plan.

Day one is testing: ten and twenty-metre sprints, a jump, a change-of-direction test and a movement screen. Day two is speed and agility for the sport. Day three is strength, recovery, sleep and what to eat around training, delivered in plain words for teenagers and their parents.

Camps run for rugby, football, netball and hockey in the last two weeks of August, at the unit and the pitch next door. Each athlete leaves with their test results and a six-week plan that fits around club training.

Clubs can book a camp for their own squad, at the unit or at their ground, with the plan shared with their coaches.

What is included

  • Three mornings, 9am to 1pm

Questions about pre-season camps

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. The testing sets each athlete's starting point and the plan follows from it.

Can my child come if they are not in a club?

Yes, as long as they play the sport.

Is food included?

No. Bring water and a snack; we finish at 1pm.

Book a free taster session.

A parent or carer books, tells us the athlete's age, sport and any health needs, and Owen or Ffion replies within a working day with a taster in the right group. Under-13s have a parent on site for the first session.
