Holiday academies

School holiday days for 11 to 14-year-olds: games, relays, speed, strength and a different sport every afternoon.

A mixed group of children aged eleven to thirteen running a relay with batons on a school field, two coaches cheering

School holidays, 11 to 14, 9am to 3pm, £22 a day or £95 a week

Holiday academies are the gentlest way in: a day of active games and sport with people the same age, no previous experience needed, and coaches who know how to make running fun.

Mornings are athletic: relays, tag games that teach changing direction, jumping and landing, throwing and catching, and a short bodyweight strength circuit. Afternoons rotate through sports: tag rugby, futsal, netball, hockey and a sports-day finale on Friday.

The ratio is one coach to eight, with at least two adults on site all day and the welfare officer on call. Children are signed in and out by a named adult, and nobody leaves early without the parent's message.

Days run at the unit and the school field next door. Tell us about medical needs, allergies and anything that helps your child settle on the booking form.

Questions about holiday academies

My child is not sporty. Will they cope?

Yes. Holiday days are built for mixed ability, and many children come for the games, not the sport.

Can you take a ten-year-old?

No. Academies are for 11 to 14. Many local schools run holiday clubs for younger children.

Is there a wet weather plan?

Yes. The unit holds the whole group indoors.

Book a free taster session.

A parent or carer books, tells us the athlete's age, sport and any health needs, and Owen or Ffion replies within a working day with a taster in the right group. Under-13s have a parent on site for the first session.
