Your own lashes, curled from the root

Lash lifts

A gentle perm for your own lashes, with a tint if you want it. It takes about an hour, and lasts six to eight weeks with nothing to apply and no mascara to take off.

Most people have longer lashes than they realise. The trouble is that they point straight out. A lift turns them upward from the root, so that you can see them.

You lie down with your eyes closed the whole time. We fit a soft silicone shield to your eyelid and comb the lashes up onto it, then apply a lifting solution, then a setting solution, and rinse. Almost everybody falls asleep. Add a tint for the last ten minutes, and you will not need mascara.

Keep them dry and away from steam for 24 hours, so that the curl sets. After that, you can do what you like, including swimming. No oil-based cleanser around the eyes, though, because oil unsets a curl faster than water does.

A lift lasts about as long as your natural lash cycle, which is six to eight weeks. Do not repeat it sooner: the lashes need to grow out. We keep a note of your date and the shield size for next time.

Questions about lash lifts

Will it damage my lashes?

Done properly and no more often than every six weeks, it should not. Very short, fine or recently lifted lashes are not good candidates, and we will say so when we look at them.

Can I wear contact lenses?

Take them out before you come and leave them out for the treatment. They can go back in an hour later.

Can I have one when pregnant?

Check with your midwife or GP first. Hormones can stop a lift from taking well, and we can only advise you to wait.
