Wholesale

The price list, in public.

Twenty-six cafés, delis, restaurants and farm shops take a standing order baked overnight and on their step before they open. These are the prices they pay. No contract, no minimum term, a tasting box before you start, and the order changed by a text until 3pm.

Bread is zero-rated for VAT; pastries and cakes carry VAT at the standard rate, added on the invoice. Invoiced monthly on 14-day terms; no contract and no minimum term. The minimum is ten items a day, because below that the van stop does not pay. Part-baked baguettes for restaurants to finish in their own oven are £1.40 in boxes of twenty, frozen.

What comes with it

Our bread served stale is worse for us than no bread.

A tasting box

Before you decide: one of everything you are thinking of, delivered on a morning of your choosing, free. Serve it, slice it, toast it, and see what your customers say before you commit to a standing order.

Before 7:30

The van leaves at six on a round ordered by your opening time and is done by half past seven, Tuesday to Sunday. In eleven years it has not been more than twenty minutes late. If a bake fails, you get a call by five.

A quarterly visit

Megan comes round every three months to see how the bread is being stored, sliced and served, and to taste what you are putting on it. It is not an inspection; it is how we find out what to bake better for you.

Your counter

A card saying who baked it, your name on our wholesale page, and anything made to your kitchen\'s shape or size from five a day: a sandwich tin, a smaller boule, a longer baguette for a particular sandwich.

What we expect back

Three things, and we will say so if they slip.

Bread stored in paper or a bin, never plastic, and sliced to order rather than in advance. Pastries sold the day they arrive and not warmed in a microwave. And the order reduced by text when you are quiet rather than bread thrown away. That is the whole deal; nothing is signed, and either side can stop with a week\'s notice.
