Twenty-six cafés and shops; house sourdough from £2.90, delivered by 7:30

Wholesale

Sourdough, baguettes, pastries and buns delivered in our van before half past seven to cafés, delis and restaurants within eight miles. Published prices, no contract, a standing order you can change by text the day before.

Wooden crates of bread being carried into the back of a small grey van outside the bakery in the early morning

About half of what we bake leaves in the van. Twenty-six cafés, delis, restaurants and farm shops across Cardiff and the Vale take a standing order of bread and pastries that is baked overnight and on their counter before they open. The prices are on this page because we think you should be able to see them before you ring.

The wholesale bake runs through the night: bread from midnight, pastries from four, and the van leaves at six on a round that is finished by half past seven. Your order is the same every day unless you text the mobile by 3pm to change it, and we would rather you reduced it than threw bread away. Invoices go out monthly on fourteen-day terms. There is no contract and no minimum term; the minimum is ten items a day, because below that the van stop does not pay.

Every account gets the same things: a tasting box before you start, a visit from Megan every quarter to check how the bread is being stored and served, a card for your counter saying who baked it, and a mention on our wholesale page. If you want a loaf shaped or sized for your kitchen, a sandwich tin or a smaller boule, we will make it for you from five a day.

Questions about wholesale

How far do you deliver?

Eight miles from Llandaff, which covers Cardiff, Penarth, Dinas Powys, Radyr, Pentyrch and Caerphilly town. Further than that we can sometimes add a stop if it is on the way; ask.

Can we have day-old or frozen bread cheaper?

No day-old, because we do not hold bread over. We do part-bake baguettes for restaurants to finish in their own oven, which keep frozen for a month and come out as if baked there; those are £1.40 each in boxes of twenty.

What if the van is late?

It is not, in eleven years, by more than twenty minutes, and the time you were told is the time you can plan around. If a bake fails, which happens once or twice a year, you get a call by five and whatever we can give you free.

Come in early, or order ahead.

Sourdough and croissants on the counter from half past seven, Welsh cakes on the bakestone, cakes to order with three weeks' notice, and wholesale to twenty-six cafés with the price list online. Ring, or use the form; a person replies within a working day.
