What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you use the booking form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, the course or visit you chose, your dog\'s age, a date if you gave one, and anything you write about your dog. The form records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The problem finder stores nothing; your choice is in the page address and nowhere else.

When you train with us we hold your contact details and address (for home visits), your dog\'s name, breed, age, health and vaccination status, the history you give us, the training plan and notes, and any videos you send or we take. Course WhatsApp groups contain the members\' names and phone numbers, visible to the group; you can ask to receive the course messages by email instead.

Why we use it

  • To train your dog and run the courses and visits (our contract with you).
  • To share information with your vet when you ask us to, or when a behaviour needs a health check (your consent).
  • To enter your dog for a Kennel Club Good Citizen test, which needs your name and the dog\'s name (our contract with you).
  • To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).

Who sees it

Your trainer and the office. Your vet, with your consent. The Kennel Club examiner, for a Good Citizen test. The review platform receives your email address once after a course, and you can decline by replying. The booking form sends an email to us through the web host. We never sell your details, and we never use a video of your dog for anything but your training without your written consent.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become training are deleted after six months. Training records and plans are kept for three years after your last session, so we can help if you come back; videos for one year; accounting records for six years. Course WhatsApp groups are closed four weeks after the course ends.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it, or withdraw consent for vet sharing or videos. Email woof@gooddogtraining.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner\'s Office at ico.org.uk.
