First team
Eighteen games in the valleys league from September to April, nine of them under the hill at Glan Taf. Unpaid, local and worth a fiver.

The first team plays in the valleys league, a level where the striker has been fitting kitchens all week and the left back is a nurse on nights. The football is honest, often good, and sometimes neither. We have played on this ground for more than a century.
Huw Bevan took over as manager five seasons ago, and he has built a squad almost entirely from lads who live within five miles. We train on Tuesdays at seven. If you are over sixteen and think you can play, ring him, because trials are in July and he will always look at somebody in the season.
Admission is on the gate in cash or by card, and a programme is a pound. Bring a coat, as the wind comes down the Taff like it has somewhere to be. The floodlights go on at about four from October onward, and they are worth seeing.
