First cuts to teenagers, patience included
Kids' cuts
Haircuts for boys from their first cut to their first fade, with a booster seat, a lolly drawer, a bit of patience and a barber who will not rush a nervous four-year-old.

A first haircut is a big deal for the kid and a bigger one for the parent. We have done a few thousand and we are not in a hurry.
Little ones sit on a booster on the chair or on a parent's lap, whichever works. We talk to them, show them the clippers before they go anywhere near, and stop if it is all too much and try again in ten minutes. There is a drawer of lollies for afterwards. First haircuts come with a certificate and a lock of hair in an envelope, which parents keep longer than the kid does.
Older boys and teenagers get the same cuts as the men: fades, crops, whatever the school allows. Weekday afternoons after three are the busy time; weekday mornings are quiet and quick.

Questions about kids
Can I come in during school hours?
Please do. Weekday mornings are the quietest time in the shop and the best time for a nervous first cut.
Walk in, or book a chair.
Two chairs take walk-ins in the order you arrive; the board shows the wait. The third chair is booked online for a set time, a shave or a wedding morning.
