Haircuts
A proper men's haircut: a word about what you want, a wash, scissors or clippers or both, a razor neckline, a hot towel and the right product to finish. Eighteen pounds, twenty minutes.
Haircut £18.
Taff Street · Pontypridd · since 2014
Proper cuts, sharp fades, beards and hot towel shaves from three barbers who cut the same way. Two chairs for walk-ins with an honest queue board, one chair for bookings. A haircut is £18 and that is the whole price.

What we do
01
A proper men's haircut: a word about what you want, a wash, scissors or clippers or both, a razor neckline, a hot towel and the right product to finish. Eighteen pounds, twenty minutes.
Haircut £18.
02
Skin fades blended from the razor up through every guard with a mirror behind you so you can see the back, finished with a sharp line-up and the top styled to suit.
Skin fade £22 including the top and a line-up.
03
Beards trimmed with scissors and clippers, shaped to your jaw and cheekbones, lines cleaned with a razor, finished with a hot towel and beard oil. On its own or with a cut.
Beard trim and shape £12.
04
The traditional cut-throat razor shave: hot towels to open the skin, pre-shave oil, lather with a badger brush, two passes with the razor, a cold towel and a balm. Thirty minutes you will not want to end.
Hot towel shave £26.
05
Haircuts for boys from their first cut to their first fade, with a booster seat, a lolly drawer, a bit of patience and a barber who will not rush a nervous four-year-old.
Under-12s £13.
06
The clays, pomades, beard oils and shaving kit we use in the shop, sold at the counter without a sales pitch, plus safety razors, badger brushes and the one shampoo that does not strip your scalp.
Matte clay £14.
The price board
No surcharge for a wash, no "product fee", no tip expected. A haircut is £18, a fade £22, a cut and beard £30, a hot towel shave £26. Kids £13, students £15, over-65s £12 on weekday mornings. Card, phone or cash.

House rules
Fades blended with a mirror behind you, necklines cut with a razor, beard lines shaped to your jaw rather than a template.
The board shows how many are waiting and roughly how long. If it says forty minutes, go for a coffee and come back; we will not have skipped you.
The board price includes the wash, the hot towel on the neck and the product to finish. Card, cash or phone.
A booster seat, a bribe drawer of lollies, and patience. Over-65s on weekday mornings are £12, and we will cut it the way you have had it since 1975.

Reviews
Same cut every three weeks for six years. Whoever is free does it exactly the same, which is the point. £18, no nonsense, and the queue board is never lying.
Best fades in the valleys and I have tried most of them. Kai holds the mirror up from the back before you are allowed to leave. Student price with my card.
Had the shop to ourselves at 8 on the wedding morning, five of us, hot towel shaves and cuts, bacon rolls from next door. Bethan's shave is a religious experience.

About fifteen minutes on average, nothing on a Tuesday morning, up to forty on a Saturday mid-morning. The board is updated by the barbers as people arrive; put your name on and go for a coffee.
We cut short hair, fades and clipper work on anyone. We do not do long-hair styling or colour; Mane Street in the Bay or the salons on the high street are better for that.
Yes: wedding parties, birthdays, stag mornings. Saturday from 8am before we open to the public, the three chairs for an hour or two, from £120. Bacon rolls can be arranged with next door.
