Getting here

The house

Bryn Awel is the long stone farmhouse with a slate roof at the top of Heol Ddu, on the hill above Ammanford. Follow the road up until the houses stop, and the sign is on the left.

By car

From Ammanford town centre it is about five minutes. Twelve parking spaces out front, including two blue-badge spaces by the ramp. It is free, and it is never full.

By bus

Local buses stop at the bottom of Heol Ddu, and there is a stiff walk up. Ring us from Ammanford station or bus stand, and if the minibus is free, we will fetch you.

Access

A ramp to the main door and wide corridors in the newer wing. The older part is narrower. There is a lift, a hearing loop in the lounge, and accessible toilets on each floor.

Visiting

Any day, no appointment. We ask only that you come after eight in the morning and before nine at night unless someone is very unwell, in which case come when you need to.

Bring the family

Children and dogs are welcome. There is a cup of tea whenever you want one, and a meal for £6 if you ring by ten that morning.

Lost? Ring 01269 496 0166. Someone will always answer.

Come and see us. Any day.

No appointment. Ring the bell at any reasonable hour, and someone will show you round and put the kettle on. If you want to talk about money or care plans with Menna, ring first so that she is free.
