Getting here, parking, access and hours

The restaurant

118 Albany Road, Roath, Cardiff CF24 3RS: the aubergine-painted front with the brass window frame, on the north side of Albany Road between the bank and the greengrocer, a hundred metres up from the Wellfield Road junction. The back room is through the restaurant; the takeaway counter is just inside the door on the left.

Getting here

Buses 50 and 51 from the city centre stop at Albany Road and Wellfield Road, two minutes' walk; the 57 and 58 stop on Albany Road itself. From Cathays station it is a twelve-minute walk up Crwys Road. Cycle racks outside the bank next door; we have a pump behind the counter.

Parking

Albany Road is pay-and-display until 6pm and free after; the side streets (Arabella Street, Diana Street) are residents only until 6:30pm and free after that. The Wellfield Road car park is three minutes away and free after 6pm. For a collection, there is usually a space outside for five minutes.

Access

Step-free from the pavement through the front door; the dining room and the back room are on one level; an accessible toilet by the kitchen door. Tables for wheelchair users at the front of the room, booked by phone so we leave the right one. The lighting is low in the evening and we will bring a lamp to the table if you ask.

Children and dogs

Children welcome at any time with a smaller thali on Sundays and smaller portions of most curries at £7 on request; two high chairs and a changing table. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room by the licence but a bowl of water is outside for the ones waiting for a takeaway.

Hours

Tuesday to Thursday 5pm to 10pm; Friday and Saturday noon to 2:30pm and 5pm to 10:30pm; Sunday 12:30pm to 4pm for the thali and then the menu until 9pm. Closed Monday except bank holidays. Last orders, in the room and for takeaway, thirty minutes before the kitchen closes. Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day; open New Year's Day from five.

Standing outside a restaurant on Albany Road with no brass window? That is one of the other four. Ring 029 2018 0560 and we will wave from the door.

A table on Albany Road, or a bag on the counter in twenty-five minutes.

Book a table for dinner, the Sunday thali for six or more, or the back room for twenty on one form, with a reply within the hour while the kitchen is open. For a takeaway, the takeaway page quotes the collection time from the clock and takes ten per cent off.
