£35 an hour, £30 in a block of six, the same for every trainer
Personal training
One-to-one coaching with one of our four trainers, employed by the gym, at one price whoever you choose: £35 an hour, £30 in a block of six, £28 in twelve, or £50 an hour for two of you. Strength, weight loss, getting back after an injury or a baby, a first 5k, a first pull-up. Their pages say who does what.

Most gyms rent floor space to self-employed trainers who have to sell you blocks to pay the rent. Ours are employed, paid a salary, and on the floor whether or not they have a client, which changes the conversation: nobody here needs to sell you twelve sessions, so the advice is about what you need.
A first session is an hour of questions and a few movements: what you want, what you have done before, what hurts, what the week looks like. From that you get a plan with a number of sessions that is honest, which for most people is one a week for six to twelve weeks and then a programme to carry on alone, with a check-in a month later. Some people keep a weekly session for years; most do not need to, and we say so.
The four trainers have different strengths, on their pages: Lowri for strength and the barbell lifts, Gav for weight loss and the over-forties, Jan for mobility, rehabilitation and the over-sixties, Kai for boxing, conditioning and anyone under twenty-five who wants to be pushed. Pick one, or tell us what you want and we will say who fits. Sessions are the same price whoever it is, and a block moves between trainers if the first match is wrong.

Questions about personal training
Do I have to be a member?
No. Personal training sessions include use of the gym for that hour. Most PT clients are members because it is cheaper if you are also training on your own, but it is not required.
Can you help with an injury?
With a referral or a letter from your physio or GP saying what you can do, yes; Jan does most of this and works with two physios in town. We will not guess at a diagnosis, and we will tell you when it is a physio you need and not us.
A free week. All of it. No card details.
Seven days of the floor, every class on the timetable and an induction with a trainer, booked with a name and an email. Join afterwards at the website price with no joining fee, or do not, and nobody rings you. About six in ten people join.
