The courts

Four courts and a kettle upstairs.

Courts 1, 2 and 3 are the originals from 1974, with solid back walls and maple floors sanded more times than anyone can count. Court 4 was added later, with a glass back and a small gallery upstairs, where you can watch, heckle, and drink tea.

Open from 7am to 10:30pm, with the last game starting at 9:15pm. Members use a fob; visitors get a code by text.

Questions about the courts

How long is a slot?

45 minutes, every 45 minutes from 7am: 7:00, 7:45, 8:30 and so on. The last starts at 9:15pm.

When does peak start?

Monday to Friday at 5pm until 9pm, and Saturday from 9am until noon. Everything else is off-peak, including all of Sunday.

Which court is best?

Court 4 has the glass back and the gallery. Courts 1 to 3 are the old ones, and many people prefer them because of their true bounce.

What if I am late?

Your slot ends on time, because someone else is waiting. Being late is the only thing Dai finds harder to fix than a backhand.

First game is on us. Bring shoes that do not mark.

Ring or send a line and someone from the club will give you a game at about your level, lend you a racket and tell you honestly what you are doing wrong.
