Hip and knee replacements, ACL, shoulder, spinal
Post-surgery rehabilitation
Getting you moving properly after a joint replacement, a ligament reconstruction, a shoulder repair or spinal surgery, to your surgeon's protocol and at your pace, in a clinic gym built for it.

The operation is half the job. The other half is the twelve weeks after, and the people who do that half properly are the people who get the outcome the surgeon promised.
We follow your surgeon's protocol and liaise with them where it helps, from the first week when it is about swelling, pain and getting the joint moving, through to the weeks when it is about strength, balance and confidence on stairs, hills and uneven ground. Hip and knee replacements, ACL and meniscus repairs, rotator cuff and shoulder stabilisation, and spinal decompression and fusion are the common ones.
Early sessions can be at home if you cannot get to us; later sessions use the clinic gym, with its step, parallel bars, bike and weights. Jane runs our over-65 and post-surgical groups on weekday mornings, which is where many patients finish their rehab among people a few weeks ahead of them.

Questions about after surgery
When should I start physio after my operation?
Usually within the first week, often while you are still on crutches. The early sessions are gentle and short and they set up everything that follows. If your surgeon has given you a date, we work to that.

Forty-five minutes with a physiotherapist: history, assessment, a diagnosis in plain words and treatment on the day. £68, no GP referral needed, most insurers recognised. Acute injuries seen within 48 hours.
