The front table

Accessories

Scarves, belts, gloves, small bags and earrings from Welsh and British makers, most of them under £60.

A leather belt, a silk scarf, a small leather bag, gold earrings and suede gloves on a pale oak table

The table inside the door is the part of the shop people come back to. It is where the eye goes first and where most of the birthday presents get bought.

Earrings come from a silversmith in Brecon and a jeweller who works above a chip shop in Newport. Leather belts and small bags are stitched in Monmouthshire by a saddler who got bored of saddles. Silk and fine wool scarves come from a mill in the Teifi valley and a printer in Macclesfield, in the colours you will find on the rails, so a scarf bought today goes with the coat bought next winter.

We wrap everything at the counter in tissue for free, and we will write the card for you if your handwriting is worse than ours.

How it works here

  • Welsh and British makers, each one named on the card
  • Free tissue wrap at the counter on every purchase
  • Silver repairs and new earring hooks sent to the maker
  • Belts holed to fit while you wait
  • Gift receipt tucked in unless you say otherwise

What it costs

Earrings from £18, belts from £32, scarves from £28, small leather bags from £75. Every price is on the shop page, and the size guide tells you what to try first.

Questions about accessories

Can I exchange earrings?

Pierced earrings cannot be exchanged for hygiene reasons, unless they arrive faulty. Clip-on and everything else on the table can be exchanged within 28 days.

Can you match a scarf to an outfit from elsewhere?

Bring the outfit or a good photograph taken in daylight. Screens lie about green and we will say so.

Do you sell handbags?

Small ones. Crossbody bags, clutches and a good shopper. We do not stock anything that needs its own seat on the train.

Come and try something on.

The kettle is on and the fitting room is free more often than you would think. Thursday evenings are by appointment, for anyone who works.
