What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the visit form we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, what you are interested in, a date if you give one, and anything you write. For styling sessions we may note your sizes and the outfit you are looking for. The wedding book holds a family name, a date and what was bought. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions.
Why we use it
- To arrange and deliver your visit, styling session or alterations (our contract with you).
- To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).
- To tell you once when something you asked after comes in, if you asked us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are deleted after six months. Wedding book entries are destroyed the day after the wedding. Styling notes are kept for two years after your last visit, accounting records for six years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it or withdraw consent. Email hello@magpie-and-thread.co.uk. We answer within a month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website sets a session cookie only when you send the form, to limit repeat submissions. The size guide is worked out on the server and stores nothing. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the find-us page is loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies.
