A visit with a walk, for the dog who is better off at home

Dog visits and walks

A thirty-minute visit with a walk round the block and a feed, or an hour with a proper walk along the seafront or up to the Dingle, for a dog who copes with a day on its own but needs company and a lead in the middle of it. £16 or £24.

Not every dog wants a day at day care or a week in kennels. An older dog, a nervous one, or one who simply likes its own bed does better at home with a visit in the middle of the day, a walk, a feed and someone to lean on for half an hour.

The thirty-minute visit is a lead on, a walk round the block or down to the park, a feed if it is due, water changed, a check the garden gate is shut and ten minutes of fuss. The hour is the same with a real walk: the seafront, the Dingle, Cosmeston by van, or Lavernock for a dog that wants the fields. Mark does most of the dog round and takes the same dogs the same days, so the dog knows who is coming.

For a dog that cannot be left all day we do two visits, or one visit and an overnight. We do not do group walks; a dog on a visit walks alone or with its housemate. We will tell you honestly if a dog is not coping at home and would be better boarded, and we know people we trust.

Questions about dog visits

Can you walk my dog every day while I am at work?

Yes, that is most of Mark's round. A standing booking of three or more days a week is the thirty-minute or hour price with no extras, invoiced weekly.

My dog is reactive. Will you still walk it?

Usually. We meet first, ask what sets it off, and walk at quiet times on the quiet routes. A dog that has bitten a person is a conversation with Carys before we say yes.

Up to forty-five minutes at your house: we meet the animals, go through the feeding, the medication and the house, photograph the charts and take a key. Message or ring, or use the form, and Carys replies within the day.
