In their words

Short quotes from parents and helpers. There are no star ratings here: a star rating of a girls football club would tell you nothing, so come and watch instead.

She stood behind me for the whole of the first session. By the third she had forgotten I was there. She is nine, and she now tells me about offside whether I want to hear it or not.

KellyMum of a wildcat

I told them she was thirteen and had never played, expecting to be fobbed off. Lowri said, good, bring her Wednesday. She plays at the back now.

RhianMum, under 14s

I got told about the fund on the quiet when things were tight last winter. Nobody else ever knew. That is why my girl still plays.

I went along to help carry goals and somehow I now run the tea hut. It is the best hour of my week and I have no idea what a false nine is.

PatGrandad, volunteer

They texted me the Wednesday before every game, with the place and the time, and they never once made me feel daft for asking which way the car park was.

SamDad, under 12s

I took the badge course when my daughter started. I had not done anything like it since school. I coach Thursdays now and I am still terrified, in a good way.

NadiaParent and helper

Never played? Good. Bring her on Thursday.

Trainers and a coat are fine for the first session. A coach meets you at the pavilion gate, and you can stay and watch for as long as you like. The first three sessions are free.
