Sandwiches made at the counter from the counter, a lunch board for one, and six tables by the window from half past eleven
Sandwiches and lunch
From half past eleven to half past two, Monday to Saturday: sandwiches made to order on sourdough from the bakery across the road with whatever is on the counter, a soup, and the lunch board for one with three cheeses, two meats, chutney and bread at £14. Six tables by the window, takeaway in paper, a glass of wine from the shelf.

Lunch started because the counter staff kept making themselves sandwiches that customers wanted. Now the six tables by the window are full by half past twelve with people from the offices on the High Street, walkers off the Valeways path, and a table of retired farmers who have had the same order since 2014.
The menu is the counter. Sandwiches on sourdough from the bakery across the road: the Carmarthen ham with the Comté and pickled shallot; the Caerphilly, leek and apple chutney; the Welsh lamb salami with roast peppers and rocket; the goat's cheese with honey and walnuts; the blue with pear; and the special, which is whatever Ffion has decided needs eating. A soup with the same bread. The lunch board for one: three cheeses, two cured meats, chutney, pickles, bread and oatcakes, £14, and it is a proper lunch.
Six tables by the bay window, no bookings, takeaway in paper. Coffee from a roaster in Cardiff, tea in a pot, the Welsh cider by the bottle, and a glass of wine from the shelf. Office platters for a meeting with a day's notice: sandwiches for six from £36.
