Failed on a bulb and a tyre. Both done while I had a coffee, retest free, out in an hour and twenty for £45 plus the parts. That is what an MOT station should be.

Book a slot
Pick the day and the hour. We confirm by text, usually within the hour. Pay at the desk after the test.
Next-day slots most weeks. Saturday mornings book up a week ahead.
Prices
Under the legal maximum, every class.
MOT fees are capped by law. The maximum a station may charge for a car is £54.85; we charge £45 and have done since 2019. Retests on items we fix the same day are free.
How we test
Four things that make an MOT here different.
Tested by the book
Two testers, both approved by the DVSA, testing to the inspection manual and nothing else. We do not sell what we test.
Fixed fees, under the maximum
Car MOT £45 against a legal maximum of £54.85. The price on the website is the price at the desk.
Free retest
Fail on something we can fix the same day and the retest is free. Bring it back within ten working days and most partial retests are free too.
Watch it happen
Viewing window onto the bay, a 45-minute slot, decent coffee. You can see the test, and the tester walks you round anything that fails.

Before you come
A third of fails are things you can check in the car park.
Lights, tyres, wipers, washer fluid and a warning light on the dash account for most of the cars that fail here. Five minutes with our checklist before you set off and the odds swing a long way in your favour. We publish the ten commonest failures and what to look for on each.
- Lighting is 18% of all failures and usually a £3 bulb
- A 20p coin tells you if a tyre is at the limit
- An engine or airbag light on is an automatic fail
On the day
An hour, start to finish.
Check in
Owen takes the keys and the V5 is not needed. Coffee is in the corner, the window onto the bay is on your left.
The test
About 45 minutes: lights, brakes on the rollers, suspension, steering, emissions, underside on the lift, the lot, to the DVSA manual.
The result
Pass, or a refusal certificate split into dangerous, major and minor. The tester shows you anything that failed, on the car.
Fix and retest
Most failure items can be fixed in the next bay the same day, then retested free. Or take the sheet anywhere and come back within ten working days.

Reviews
What people say on the way out.
Huw walked me round the car and showed me the worn bush on the ramp instead of just handing me a sheet. First garage that has ever done that. Booked the service there and then.
They told me the other garage's "advisory" on my brakes was nonsense and passed it clean. Could have charged me £200. Did not.

Never miss it again
A text the week your MOT is due.
Give us the registration and the date it runs out and we text and email you a week before, with a link to book. No marketing, no monthly newsletter, one message a year. About a third of the cars we test were booked from that text.
