What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to ask us about it.
What we collect
When you use the enquiry form we collect your name, mobile number, email address and postcode, what you are asking for and how you would like it, a date if you give one, and what you write. The form also records the time it was sent and your IP address, used only to block automated submissions. The match tool and the case builder send your choices in the address of the page and store nothing.
Why we use it
- To answer your question, hold your tasting place or deliver your order (our contract with you, or the steps before one).
- To check age where the law requires it (a legal obligation). We look at ID; we do not copy it.
- To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).
We do not send marketing unless you have asked for it, which you can stop at any time by replying or telling us. We do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
Who sees it
Hywel and Anwen. A courier, for orders sent beyond our van (name, address and number only). Our card terminal provider, for payments. Our website host, for the form. Our accountant, for the accounts. None of them may use your details for anything else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that lead to nothing are deleted after six months. A note of what you liked is kept only if you ask us to keep it. Accounting records are kept for six years because the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing shop@cork-and-cellar.co.uk or asking us in person. We answer within a month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The website sets one cookie, a session identifier, only when you send the form, so that we can stop the same browser sending it twice in thirty seconds. It holds nothing about you and expires when you close the browser. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. The map on the Find us page is embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when it loads.
