Eleven thousand on the shelves; any book in print by the next working day at the publisher's price
Books and ordering
Fiction, crime, poetry, history, nature, cookery, children's, young adult, a wall of Welsh books in both languages, and the staff picks shelf with the reasons on cards. Anything we do not have, we order: in print means next working day, usually, and we text you when it is in. Nothing to pay until you collect.

A bookshop is a selection, and ours is eleven thousand books picked by four people who read a great deal and disagree with each other, which is why the shelves have range. What we do not have we can get: the wholesaler delivers every morning except Sunday, so a book ordered before four is usually on the counter the next day.
The shop is on two floors: fiction, crime, poetry, the Welsh wall and the café downstairs; children's, young adult, history, nature, science, cookery, art and the quiet room upstairs. New hardbacks are on the front table, paperbacks of the month on the stairs, and the staff picks shelf by the till has a handwritten card under every book saying who chose it and why. Ask any of us anything; recommending is the job.
Ordering is simple: tell us the title, the author or the ISBN at the counter, on the phone, by email or on the order page, and we order it that afternoon. In print means next working day for most things; a few publishers take three or four days and we say which. We text when it arrives and hold it for a fortnight, with nothing to pay until you collect. We can post anywhere in Britain for £2.95, or free over £25. Out-of-print books we search for at £2, refunded against the book if we find it, and we usually do.

Questions about books
Are you more expensive than online?
We sell at the price printed on the book. The big online shop discounts some bestsellers; on most books there is no difference, and on ours you get a person who has read it and a shop that is still there next year.
Can I order Welsh-language books?
Yes, and we hold more than most: the Welsh wall is a third Welsh-language, and anything from the Welsh Books Council's distributor is next-day.
Any book in print, by tomorrow. Tell us the title.
