Private dining

Twelve by the fire, or forty with the key.

The back room was the townhouse's dining room and still has its panelling, its fireplace and its own door off the courtyard. Eight to twelve at one table with a menu written for the party and no hire fee. The whole restaurant is yours on a Monday or Tuesday.

Two options

The room, or the restaurant.

The back room

Eight to twelve at one table, panelled, a fireplace, own door, own waiter, from 6pm until close or from noon on Sunday. No hire fee. Minimum spend £450 Friday and Saturday, £300 otherwise.

The whole restaurant

Forty seated on a Monday or Tuesday, when we are otherwise closed. Weddings, wakes, launches and the Christmas parties that start in October. From £1,800 minimum spend, menu and wine shaped with Sioned and Tom.

The menu

A set menu written for your party, usually three choices a course, from £42 a head; the tasting menu for the table at £65; or the Sunday roast for a family Sunday. Dietary needs cooked for, not improvised.

Deposit and dates

£100 holds the date and comes off the final bill. Final numbers and menu a week before. Christmas back rooms go by mid-October; Monday and Tuesday whole-restaurant dates are usually free six weeks out.

How it works

One email to Tom, one lunch if you want one.

Send the date, the numbers and the occasion through the booking form or to the email below. Tom replies within a working day with what is available and a draft menu from Sioned. Most people come in for lunch to see the room and talk it through; a £100 deposit then holds the date, and the final numbers, menu and wine are confirmed a week before. On the night your waiter runs the room and the bill is settled at the end.

  • Cake welcome and plated, or Lowri makes one; flowers and place cards welcome
  • Speeches stay behind the door; a playlist on the room's speaker if you want one
  • Children welcome in the back room at any hour; it has a door
