How it works

Four steps from choosing a design to being open online, and most of the work is ours. You need your business details, a few photos and a chat.

The four steps

  1. Pick a design you like

Look through the seventy-five working websites and choose the one that feels like your business. It does not have to be your trade: a bakery design can sell a florist. And if nothing fits, we build one from scratch.

  2. Tell us about your business

Fill in the short Start today form, or use the chat. Tell us what you do, where you are and which design you liked. We get back to you, tell you plainly what we need and when it will be ready.

  3. Send what you have

Your logo if you have one, a few photographs, your prices and your hours. If the words are a struggle we write them with you, in your voice, not ours.

  4. Go live, and stay live

We put the site live on your address, set up your email and keep it hosted and looked after for the year. £250, once a year, and nothing else to remember.

What we'll ask you for

What you have is usually enough.

  • Your business name, address, phone number and opening hours
  • What you do, who for, and roughly what it costs
  • Your logo, if you have one, and a handful of photographs of your work, your place or your team
  • The questions customers ask you most, because those become the most useful parts of the site
  • Which of the designs you liked, and why

Questions

About getting started.

Does my website have to look exactly like the demo?

No. The design is the starting point. Your colours, your logo, your photographs and your words go in, and the pages are arranged around what your customers need to know.

Can a design from a different trade work for me?

Usually, yes. The layouts are about how a business explains itself, not about the trade. A plumber can use a locksmith's design; a café can use a bookshop's. Use the finder to see the designs closest to what you do.

Do I need to write the words myself?

Send us what you have, even if it is a few notes. We write the pages with you so they sound like you and answer the questions customers really ask.

Will people find me on Google?

Every site is built with the things Google looks for: clear page titles, sensible headings, a sitemap, local business details in the format search engines read, and fast pages. Nobody can promise a top spot, and anyone who does is selling something else.

Seen one you like? Tell us about your business.
