I built a lamb jalfrezi at four chillies on the website, saw £11.45 before I rang, and the site said Friday was busy and to allow an hour. It came in fifty minutes and it was a four, not a two pretending.

The mixed grill arrives still sizzling, which I did not think was possible over three miles. The seekh kebabs are made in the back and you can tell.
A proper tarka dal with fried garlic, a saag paneer and a paneer bhuna at three, all vegetarian and none of it an afterthought. They asked about allergies without me mentioning it.
Family feast for four on a Saturday, plenty of food and all hot. Four stars because Deri is at the edge and we waited seventy minutes, though they did ring at the hour to say the driver was on the way.
Twenty pounds for two curries, a rice and a naan, collected on the way home. We have done Tuesday here for three years. The korma is the best in the valley and my husband's madras makes him cry.
An actual biryani, layered, with the rice tasting of the lamb, and a sauce on the side. Better the next day for lunch.
About the four stars
Deri on a Saturday is the far end, and Gavin is right.
Deri is the top of our area, up the valley past Brithdir, and on a Saturday at half seven a driver can have four drops before it. Seventy minutes is too long. What we changed: the website now adds twenty minutes to the time on Friday and Saturday evenings from the clock, so the number you see before you order is the real one, and Nasreen rings at the hour if the food is not at the door yet, which Gavin says she did.
